SECONDARY SCHOOL Djilakh

We took on the Senegal Secondary School Challenge, an international competition hosted by Archstorming in collaboration with the NGO Let’s Build My School. The mission was to design a sustainable and replicable educational model for Djilakh, a village where the lack of secondary-level infrastructure forces many students to end their education prematurely.

Our proposal, Secondary School Djilakh, reimagines the traditional school as a community centre. By integrating the Guna Vault, a thermally efficient roofing system, and leveraging local materials such as adobe and terracotta, we developed a design that is not only climate-responsive but also strengthens regional craftsmanship.

This project represents our commitment to humanitarian architecture: creating spaces that offer dignity, foster social inclusion, and provide a sustainable blueprint for the future of rural Senegal.
