apartment Restoration

WORK IN PROGRESS

The original layout of this historic Italian apartment didn’t include a corridor, requiring passage through one room to reach another. To improve flow, we added a wall to recess the bedroom, creating a corridor that now links the living and sleeping areas and obtaining also a small storage space. In the smallest bedroom, we used a soft pink for the front walls and ceiling to deepen the narrow space, enhancing its character with the original palette. The bathroom redesign features a hidden door within concrete cladding, which provides privacy from the kitchen and living areas without disrupting the overall look. This solution elegantly addressed the challenge of limited space near the entrance and of an anteroom for the bathroom, while adding a modern touch without extensive structural changes. The apartment combines minimalist northern style with Italian craftsmanship, creating a warm, inviting space. The custom kitchen seamlessly flows into a TV unit ending in a cosy nook facing the original restored fireplace. With minimal structural adjustments, we focused on updating interiors and furniture, achieving a balanced blend of heritage and modern comfort.
